Gene Rogers
Gene Rogers began serving as the Executive Director of Alabama Childhood Food Solutions (ACFS) May 1, 2019, after a 30-year career in education. He earned his B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from the University of Mississippi and completed his Ed. S. In Educational Leadership from the University of Montevallo.
His life was forever changed when he trusted Christ as a junior in high school. He met his wife Sharon in college and the couple has three adult children along with five granddaughters. He enjoys traveling, the outdoors and spending time with family.
Gene considers it an honor to be a part of the team at ACFS that has been working to battle food insecurity in Central Alabama for over 12 years. “We have an amazing group of volunteers and staff that have responded to Gods call to Love our Neighbors.” His life verse is found in the book of Jeremiah.
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me, when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
