Who We Are

Our Team

Cindy Adams

Cindy Adams

Cindy Adams has been part of the ACFS team since she and her husband Brad relocated from northwest
Illinois to Birmingham, AL in 2012. God placed on her heart to serve her community when as a young
mom, she, and other moms in her bible study of Valley Evangelical Covenant Church in Stillman Valley, IL
along with their children, began feeding food insecure families at a local park peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches. These moms wanted to teach their young children to both appreciate their blessings and to
reach out in Christian love to the needy in the community. This “peanut butter and jelly sandwich
ministry” evolved into the Bread of Life Food Pantry where Cindy served as Director. During her tenure
the food ministry and soup kitchen served 500 people each month and shared the love of Jesus Christ to
all those that walked through their doors. When Cindy met Jim and Linda Jones at Double Oak
Community Church in Birmingham, she immediately plugged into the ACFS ministry and helped
establish and coordinate the food pantry distribution model and has volunteered her time and spiritual
gifts as the Business Manager. Cindy is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL with a
degree in Finance. She served as Vice President of Retail Banking at First Oak Brook Bancshares before
going into ministry.
