Russell Scruggs is the Chief WorkForce Development Officer for SAFE (Sylacauga Family Services) serving East Alabama in partnership with schools and industry leaders to develop students and adults with career readiness skills to successfully enter the workforce. He assumed this position in March 2022 following his retirement in 2020 as a community banker serving South Shelby and Talladega County 1989-2020. Russell serves on the board of directors with ACFS and was recently appointed to the board with Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce.
